John Jay calls on Americans to learn from European history and choose union over disunion. He injects fear of foreign domination to gather support for the concept of a single American union.

Jay points his arguments to the “Anti-Federalists” who contend that Americans’ interests are best served by dividing the country into multiple sovereignties.

Jay pleads with Americans to learn the lessons of history and apply those lessons to the future of America.
